SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - More domain names are being bought and sold through GoDaddy.com's Domain Name Aftermarket than any other auction site, according to Zetetic, an independent research and appraisal services firm.

GoDaddy.com, the No. 1 registrar of domain names worldwide, has sold more than 12,000 domain names through the Domain Name Aftermarket in the past 30 days and more than 68,000 since the site's inception. The Domain Name Aftermarket exchange service is now the industry leader in terms of transaction volume. In addition, Go Daddy's auction site commissions are lower than major competitors, at 5-7% with a minimum commission of only $5.

"The market for domain names is hot. Users of our Domain Name Aftermarket have come to find the service to be the best way to capitalize on this demand," said Bob Parsons, GoDaddy.com CEO and founder. "We are constantly working to offer customers top-notch names and to make obtaining a desirable piece of the Internet easy."

Zetetic has tracked the secondary domain name resale market since 2003, collecting data on more than 16,000 domain name sales transactions from over 70 resale sources. For this report, Zetetic analyzed a random sampling of domain aftermarket sales in 2005, excluding expired and dropped names, and compared it to Zetetic's broader sampling of its transaction database.
