Following a rigorous audit, C I Host has been awarded the SAS 70 Type II
certification, an assurance to the public that C I Host's documentation
is accurate and truly represents the performance and status of the
company. Under this certification, an independent auditor examines a company's
day-to-day procedures to make sure the company continues to perform as
documented and reports on the findings every six months. The SAS
(Statement on Auditing Standards) has been developed by the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
"We are extremely pleased to receive this certification," said
Christopher Faulkner, CEO of C I Host. "It means that we accurately
document our procedures, that these procedures support the delivery of
our services, and that they can hold up under the scrutiny of an
independent auditor each and every day."
C I Host passed the SAS 70, or Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70
Type I audit, in 2003. That stamp of approval applies to C I Host's
corporate policies surrounding management and personnel controls and
the infrastructure and security controls that are associated with the
operation of C I Host's data center and Web hosting functions. It is
required for companies who want to provide IT services to companies
with high security and confidentiality requirements.
The Type II certification that C I Host received this month requires a
more extensive examination in which the auditor examines and verifies
that the company's controls are being followed on an ongoing basis, and
then reports on their findings every six months.
"Our operational and network teams deserve a tremendous amount of
credit for assuring that C I Host's operations meet and exceed the
rigorous standards and expectations of the SAS 70 Type II principles,"
Faulkner said. "It is one more way we provide our customers with the
most exacting and reliable service possible."
C I Host has a consistent record of taking a proactive approach to
using the most rigorous means to keep the Internet healthy and to
protect the security and confidentiality of its clients' data. It has
seen consistent growth and expansion over the past several years and
has more than 250,000 customers in 190 countries.
C I Host's SAS-Type II certification report is available to customers and prospective customers as needed.
