Afternic Domain Name Exchange Launches New, Streamlined Website
By Derek Iwasiuk Leading domain-name exchange Afternic has launched a new, more streamlined website that offers several additional features. The revised site, which went live today, provides easy access to recently listed domain names, as well as links to current transactions and offers. "In response to feedback from our customers and an internal evaluation of the site's navigation and usability, we decided to redesign the site to give it a fresh, modern look," said Roger Collins, president of Afternic. In addition to a cleaner home page, Afternic has added a "New Listings" section that allows visitors to view the most recently listed domain names. This section also benefits sellers by providing immediate exposure for their newly acquired names. The exchange has also revamped "My Afternic," transforming it into a navigation and information hub with links to members' activities and notices about current transactions. Members can also view the offers they have made and received, as well as their current transactions in escrow.
As a final component of the redesign, Afternic also updated the color scheme of its logo for the first time since acquiring the brand in 2002. To further streamline its online visual identity, the company decided to drop the .com extension from its logo. A leading domain-name exchange based in Orlando, Fla., Afternic is the most
recognized name in the secondary domain name industry. The company boasts
an extensive exchange network, where domain name registrars refer buyers of
aftermarket domains and earn commissions from Afternic. Afternic provides
a "one-stop shop" where consumers can buy secondary domains in a secure,
anonymous environment. Some of the industry's leading registrars --
including Register.com, eNom.com and Eurodns.com -- work with Afternic.
The company has experienced triple-digit annual growth since its
acquisition in 2002 from Register.com. |
