NeuStar has renegotiated its contract with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to maintain operational and administrative control of the registry for the .BIZ top-level domain (TLD).
NeuStar will increase wholesale registry fees charged for billable transactions processed in the .BIZ TLD fees by a maximum of 10% per year (from a baseline of $6.00 per year), provided registrars are notified six months in advance. The increase will occur six months after NeuStar sent the price increase notice to ICANN on Aptil 17, 2007. In the notice, NeuStar said it was taking this action to align .BIZ domain prices more closely with those of competing global TLDs.
As of October 19, 2007 at 00:00:00 GMT, all transactions processed in .BIZ will incur a $6.42 fee per domain year with the exception of the Redemption Grace Period (RGP) fees, which will remain unchanged. This amount includes all registry fees due to ICANN.
