Use of .EU Domain Names Up 23% during Third Quarter
By Derek Iwasiuk EURid, the European registry for .eu, announced on Monday that registrations for the .eu top-level Internet domain continued to grow during the third quarter of this year.
“The growing use of .eu domain names is a sign of the domain’s increasing acceptance as a mainstream domain,” Marc Van Wesemael, managing director of EURid. “We see that a growing number of individuals and organisations recognize the benefits of having a .eu domain name.” According to the most recent analysis, each .eu registrant has 2.6 domain names on average, down from 2.9 in the beginning of the year. These and other statistics appear in EURid’s Quarterly Progress Report to the European Commission, which can be found on the EURid website (see eurid's quarterly_3-07_071116.pdf)
