.NL domain registrations approaching 4,500,000

SIDN,responsible of the administration of .NL extension, is approaching 4,500,000 domain name registrations under .NL .
This number makes .NL one of the largest ccTLDs when one looks at the number of domains registered per person with one domain for every three people .Moreover, .NL is one of the largest ccTLDs in terms of total registrations.
SIDN celebrated its three milionth domain name registration in 2008,while its two millionth milestone was reached in 2006 .5 years later,the number of .nl domain names has more than doubled .
Up to date,there are 4,468,351 .NL domain name registrations .
This year on 25 April 2011,,SIDN celebrated 25 years since the Internet domain name .NL was introduced .
