Juniper Networks IDP Systems Protect Against New Microsoft Windows Vulnerabilities Disclosed Today

(DomainInformer.com) - SUNNYVALE, Calif., February 14, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) announced its award-winning intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) systems are able to offer protection for eight "critical" vulnerabilities announced today by Microsoft Corporation. Of these critical vulnerabilities, the Juniper Networks IDP systems offer "zero day" protection for two: MS05-005 - that could lead to buffer overrun within Office XP and MS05-015 - that could allow remote code execution in the Hyperlink Object Library. Juniper Networks IDP systems are able to protect against all of today's "important" Microsoft notices.

Juniper Networks IDP systems, running the 3.0 and above versions of its IDP operating code, can detect and prevent a majority of the vulnerabilities announced by Microsoft today. Additionally, Juniper Networks firewalls may be used to protect a portion of these vulnerabilities. In most cases, the vulnerabilities allow the attacker to gain control of affected systems.
