June 19, 2007; 01:22 AM With the popularity of the Internet growing at a record pace, you might
need a little extra help securing an ideal domain name that's memorable
or relevant for your Web site. That’s why GoDaddy.com, the world’s
leading domain name registrar, is offering people and businesses a new
way to access a large variety of “premium” domain names.
“We
know how important it is to have the right domain name,” says Go Daddy
President and Chief Operating Officer Warren Adelman. “A fun, catchy or
even a geographically specific domain name can have a major impact on
how much business you generate. People are just more likely to type in
certain names while searching the Web.”
Now, when customers go to GoDaddy.com
and type in a domain name to find out if that name or something similar
is available, they’ll also see a list of related, premium domain names
that might be a great fit for their businesses. The new “Premium Domain
Name” option, which offers domains for resale, was created after Go
Daddy worked with the registrants for some of the best domain names on
the Web.
“This new option allows people who go to GoDaddy.com
the chance to find exactly what they want in a place where they are
already looking for domain names,” says Adelman. “The system also
allows newly obtained premium domain names to be seamlessly and
immediately transferred to the new owners with little or no effort.”
Because
many of the new premium domain names have more commercial value than
other domain names, their rights sell for higher prices. You can also
register countless names currently available and yet unregistered for
less than $10 per year at GoDaddy.com.
Computer users recently
voted Go Daddy as the best registrar in the business, for the second
year in a row, according to industry news source Domain Name Wire. Go
Daddy ranks as the most popular registrar, with more than 4 million
customers and more than 22 million domain names registered.
