August 8, 2007; 02:31 AM GoDaddy.com is at it again - giving generously of its time and money to
help Arizona's Humane Society. The Internet leader matched online
donations made during this weekend's annual telethon - shelling out
$50,000. GoDaddy.com also helped keep the technical side of the
television charity event running smoothly as well. Thousands of
sick, injured and homeless animals across the state will have their
lives saved or improved with the money raised through the charity
event. In total, more than $554,300 was donated during Saturday’s
telethon, an increase of $88,000 over last year. “The Arizona
Humane Society receives no government funding, so it needs money from
community members and local businesses to help provide care for the
animals,” said Go Daddy President and Chief Operating Officer Warren
Adelman. Adelman shared the spotlight with Max, GoDaddy.com
Founder & CEO Bob Parsons' dog, who trotted the donation check
across the stage on live television flawlessly. "Max spent time
rehearsing the special delivery and executed it like a champ," Adelman
joked shortly after their appearance. Last year, Go Daddy also
helped support the telethon with both financial and technical
assistance. In addition to a $50,000 check, Go Daddy jumped in and
supplied a new Web address when the Arizona Humane Society’s old Web
site crashed last year, unable to handle all the traffic generated by
the telethon. The organization now has its Web site, www.AzHumane.org,
registered and hosted by Go Daddy to ensure consistent, reliable
service. GoDaddy.com employees also helped answer telephone calls
during the seven-hour broadcast on Phoenix ABC affiliate KNXV. “Go
Daddy has been a good friend to us, providing funds and technical
support, so we can focus on taking care of the animals,” said Cheryl
Naumann, president and CEO of the Arizona Humane Society. “Last year
they literally saved the online element of our telethon and this year
they helped keep everything running smoothly - not to mention the
generous financial donation." The Arizona Humane Society’s
telethons not only raise money for animals in need, but also provide a
program where viewers can learn valuable pet care tips, get pet
training information, find out how to fight animal cruelty and meet
dozens of animals that need new homes. GoDaddy.com matched
online donations up to $50,000, but it's not too late to contribute.
