Dale Earnhardt Jr. Ready to Race No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet

August 7, 2008; 05:52 AM

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--NASCAR's most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., is set to drive the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International during the NASCAR Zippo 200 Nationwide Series race Saturday. He's looking to make it Go Daddy's second win in a row after Ron Fellows' victory at the NAPA Auto Parts 200 last weekend.

Earnhardt designed the sleek black, orange and green Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. Earnhardt debuted the Go Daddy-sponsored car in April, finishing seventh at the O'Reilly 300. The first win in Go Daddys inaugural season came last weekend when elite road racer Ron Fellows drove the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet through Montreal's rainy Circuit Gilles Villeneuve road course.

Im looking forward to driving the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet again, Earnhardt said. After Ron's victory last week at Montreal, we know our road-course cars are really good, and we expect another good run this weekend.

Go Daddy, the world's largest domain registrar and the largest paid Web hosting provider in North America, signed a deal with JR Motorsports and Hendrick Motorsports late last year. Hendrick and JR Motorsports officially combined operations for the NASCAR Nationwide Series after the 2007 racing schedule.

"I love the fact Dale Earnhardt Jr. designed the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet," said GoDaddy.com CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. "Dale Jr. is a fierce competitor. He's the most popular NASCAR driver for good reason -- he's fun to watch and really knows how to thrill the fans!"

This won't be the last ride of the NASCAR season for the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet. Next up, Mark Martin, the all-time leader in Nationwide Series wins, gets behind the wheel at the Carfax 250 in Michigan Aug. 16. Martin concludes the season in the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet Sept. 27 at the Kansas Lottery 300.

Meantime, over on the IndyCar League this Saturday, Go Daddy will be the broadcast sponsor for the Meijer 300 race at Kentucky Speedway. You can expect to see GoDaddy.com branding on everything from broadcast segments to aerial and in-car views during the ESPN2 broadcast, and Go Daddy Girl Danica Patrick will be vying for IndyCar's checkered flag again.

Earlier this year, Danica Patrick made history as the first woman to ever win an IndyCar race. Go Daddy made Internet history in June with a historic milestone, registering an industry-record 30 million domain names.
