Sedo to Host Live Auction at DomainFocus Conference in London

August 9, 2007; 06:40 AM

Sedo, the leading online marketplace for the buying and selling of domain names, will facilitate the world's first live auction for .co.uk domain names. The event will take place at the Domain Focus conference in London on September 6-7, 2007.

With live auctions becoming an increasingly popular means of selling premium domain names, Sedo's event at Domain Focus marks the first time that an auction will be focused on a particular regional top level domain (TLD). .Co.uk is the world's second most popular country code TLD, having recently surpassed the six million registration mark.

"Domain Focus will bring together all of the major players in the UK domain space," said Matt Bentley, Chief Strategy Officer at Sedo.com. "It is the perfect venue for Sedo to begin staking our claim in the Live Domain Auction space."

The Sedo Auction at Domain Focus will feature over 50 high-quality one-word .co.uk domain names, including Sport.co.uk, Phones.co.uk, Fly.co.uk, PDA.co.uk, Conferences.co.uk, and Decorating.co.uk. The complete list of domain names to be auctioned is included below.

The London Domain Focus is the first in a series of exclusive conferences offering top domain industry players a high-level networking environment for optimal learning and business development.

David Brayshaw, Founder of Domain Focus, said: "We are very excited about working with Sedo.com on what is yet another world premier, an auction that focuses on a particular regional ccTLD."
