BRISBANE, Australia, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Professional domain name owners from around the globe will attend the first Australian domain conference, "T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Down Under" later this year. Domain companies Fabulous.com (Dark Blue Sea Ltd) and T.R.A.F.F.I.C. have partnered to host the premiere event scheduled for November 18th - 20th, 2008, to be held at the Sheraton Mirage Resort, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
The explosive growth in online advertising (in the first half of 2007 alone, advertisers in the US spent more than $10 billion) has seen Internet entrepreneurs earn millions of dollars by buying, selling, developing and monetizing web addresses, or "domain names". There are now over 1,000 so-called "domainers" (as domain owners refer to themselves), as many as 100 million registered domains, and a thriving aftermarket for domain names, with reported sales exceeding US$700M in 2007.
At the recent T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East show, Steve Forbes, CEO of Forbes, Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Magazine was enthusiastic about the industry. "Internet traffic and domains are the prime real estate of the 21st century. This market has matured, and individuals, brands, investors and organizations who do not grasp their importance or value are missing out on numerous levels." T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Down Under is the first conference to be held outside the US and specifically targets an international pool of attendees including domain owners, domain registrars, online advertisers, sponsors, investors, media, advertising executives, venture capitalists, financial analysts and industry experts. Conference participants will experience three days of workshops, key industry speakers and social events in one of Australia's most unique leisure and entertainment districts.
Rick Schwartz, T.R.A.F.F.I.C. founder, feels a conference in Australia is long overdue, "Australians are a major force in the domain industry, representing some of the largest domain portfolio owners in the world. This show will be a truly global event..."
Domain industry expert, Ron Jackson of DNJornal.com, believes "Domains are now a global business and the highest growth rates in the industry are currently being found outside the US...There is no doubt it will be a week that is fun, informative, profitable and unforgettable!"
