OTTAWA, April 22 /CNW Telbec/ - Internic.ca, Canada's first .CA registrar,is pleased to be the registrar of choice for the one millionth .CA domain name registration.
Brent Krause from Calgary, Alberta, registered the landmark .CA domain name, KrausLaw.ca, to promote his private law practice. "On the advice of my web designer, I decided to register several domain names relating to my law firm to make sure existing and potential clients could find me," says Krause. "I've been registering .CA names with Internic.ca since 2000. Their competitive prices, user-friendly registration, and great reputation with Canadian businesses make it an easy choice."
Available only to Canadians, the .CA top level domain (TLD) has been growing at approximately 20 per cent a year, and is a tangible example of how Canada has a strong and active Internet presence. As the first .CA accredited registrar, Internic.ca has been integral in helping reach this important milestone.
The .CA TLD has been administered by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) since 2000. "The .CA TLD is a unique representation of Canada on the Internet," says Byron Holland, President and CEO of CIRA. "As one of CIRA's oldest and largest registrars, Internic.ca has been a significant contributor in promoting .CA domain names and helping Canadians put their business and personal websites online."
