Podgorica, Montenegro. (May 7, 2008) – doMEn d.o.o., the official registry
operator for the new .ME domain name extension, announced today that .ME
is now open for trademark owners to register their marks. .ME is expected to
be utilized as both a personalized Web address and as a catchy business
marketing tool around the world.
Anyone with a registered trademark
or service mark applied for before June 28, 2006 is eligible to apply for a
.ME domain. Applications will be accepted until May 20, 2008. If there is
only one application for a domain name, the domain name will be awarded to
that applicant. If more than one application is received for a name, the
competing applications will be sent to auction following the close of the
application period.
All Sunrise registrations require a minimum 5 year
registration term. Members of the public will have an opportunity to begin
to apply for .ME domains during the Landrush period, which opens on June 6.
Real-time registrations will commence on July 17.

in purchasing a .ME domain name should apply through the domain name
registrar of their choice. A full list of accredited registrars is available
