.CM Cameroon Domain Launch - Sunrise October 2008

Cameroon (PRWEB) October 2, 2008 -- NETCOM.cm SARL, the official registry operator for the Republic of Cameroon has announced the launch of second level CM domain names. The registry will be accepting sunrise domain name applications from October 15 2008.

NETCOM.cm SARL was founded in early 2008 as a proud partner of ANTIC - The Information Technology Regulator for Cameroon.

Mr. Moustapha Saya Kaigama, president of NETCOM.cm SARL says, "With years of struggling with technical issues, we are very pleased to announce that NETCOM.cm will be offering .COM.CM, .NET.CM and .CO.CM domain names to businesses and individuals worldwide."

Mr. Kaigama added, "I would like to personally thank our three partners, ANTIC - National Agency for Information Technology and Communication, Instra Corporation - our very first registrar and our appointed validation agent for sunrise CM domain name applications, and CoCCA - Council of Country Code Administrators Limited, which are providing the registry services for NETCOM.cm. Without the valued contributions of our partners, this launch would not be possible."

The CM launch will commence with a short sunrise period of approximately two weeks to give holders of national trademarks premium opportunities to protect their brands online. As a typo of .CN - the current No. 1 Country Code Top Level Domain, .CM will potentially be seen to have a big impact on internet-based Global Brand Protection.

Following the sunrise period, the general registration period is expected to commence on November 15 2008, which will allow the general public to register CM domain names.

Registrars worldwide are welcomed by NETCOM.cm to come on board as an accredited Netcom registrar.

All CM domain name applications must be made submitted through a Netcom Accredited Registrar.
