InfoWeapons Inc. Signs Strategic Distribution Agreement with LaniNet AB

November 12, 2008; 08:31 AM

ATLANTA and STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- InfoWeapons Inc., provider of next generation Internet Protocol (IPv6) appliances and secure applications and LaniNet AB, a value-added IT security solutions provider serving Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, today announced the signing of a strategic distribution agreement between the two parties. As part of the agreement, LaniNet will distribute InfoWeapons' dual-stack IPv6 SolidDNS appliance to enterprises and public entities in the Nordic market.

SolidDNS is the only IPv6 Forum Gold Certified Domain Name Services (DNS) management platform for IPv6 and next-generation Internet capabilities. Additionally, SolidDNS is the first appliance in the world to provide a graphical user interface to DNSSEC, a new security standard that will reduce the risk of fraud on the Internet.

While DNSSEC is expected to be deployed in mass scale in 2009 in the U.S. market, many other countries are already implementing the standard. Sweden, one of the countries where LaniNet AB will distribute SolidDNS, has gained recent recognition for making considerable strides in safer DNS on the Internet. The country is home to the world's first commercial DNSSEC service, which was launched in 2007.

"The Nordic market, especially Sweden, has taken a very progressive approach towards increasing DNS security and preparing for the migration to IPv6," said Luis Gopez, CEO of InfoWeapons Inc. "Through our partnership with LaniNet, we feel that we can make a real impact on the next generation of Internet security in this market."

In addition to improving DNS security, the depletion of IPv4-based Internet addresses continues to pose a significant challenge to enterprises, government agencies and other organizations across the world. With a projected depletion date of mid-2010 for IPv4-based addresses, organizations must take measures to bridge the migratory gap to IPv6, while implementing technology that enables their entire communications infrastructure to be IPv6-compliant.

"SolidDNS is on the forefront of technology that offers built-in DNSSEC and IPv6 capabilities," stated Larry Eliasson, CEO and founder of LaniNet AB. "We are very pleased to be able to distribute InfoWeapons' products to the Scandinavian market."
