(OPENPRESS) November 25, 2008 -- Cash Klemchuk Powers Taylor, LLP
(CKPT) will be expanding its Domain Name Recovery Practice, effective
immediately. The practice will operate within the Intellectual Property
section, chaired by IP trial attorney, Darin M. Klemchuk, and include
the services of Bhaveeni D. Parmar, and others. The Domain Name Recovery Practice will focus protecting clients from
domain name infringement, cybersquatting, phishing, domain name
tasting, and other acts of unfair competition. In addition, the
practice will advise clients on issues regarding, false advertising,
metatag usage, copyright and trademark usage, privacy and publicity
matters, and ICANN preceedings. “Domain names are intended to be used
as identifiers for an online business,” stated Mr. Klemchuk. “However,
third parties often attempt to profit by exploiting the system and
register numerous valuable domain names, only to offer them for sale at
higher prices or to use them to attract business to their own sites.” The Domain Name Recovery Practice will launch a blog in 2009 centered
on “Unfair Competition in Cyberspace.” The blog will be hosted through
the group’s intellectual property focused site, www.ckptip.com, which
is currently home to numerous resources relating to the Domain Name
Recovery practice, including an e-commerce glossary. Darin M. Klemchuk focuses his practice on patent, trademark, copyright,
trade secret and other intellectual property litigation and
enforcement. In addition, Mr. Klemchuk has extensive experience
representing clients in commercial and business disputes, particularly
software development, trade-secret, and non-compete disputes. Recently
named by D Magazine as one the “Best Lawyers in Dallas,” for the second
year in a row, Mr. Klemchuk also focuses on intellectual-property
licensing and technology agreements and serves as local counsel for out
of state plaintiffs and defendants involved in patent, trademark,
copyright, IP, and commercial litigation in the state and federal
courts in Dallas, Texas. Bhaveeni D. Parmar’s practice focuses on assessing, managing, and
protecting the intellectual property of her clients with an emphasis on
patents, trademarks, and copyrights. CKPT offers a broad range of services in addition to intellectual
property including commercial litigation and business litigation as
