CHICAGO, Illinois, January 27, 2009 — RegistryPro, the exclusive operator of the .Pro top-level domain (TLD) on the Internet, announced today that it has seen explosive growth in the total number of .Pro domain name registrations thanks in part to expanded eligibility guidelines and the work of partner registrars. .Pro is the first and only domain name extension catered to professionals and professional entities worldwide.

On September 8, 2008, RegistryPro relaunched .Pro to the world under expanded ICANN guidelines. The new guidelines allow virtually any professional in nearly any country to register a .Pro domain name. At the same time, Network Solutions, a pioneer of domain name registration services, provided a major push for the registration surge.
