Web Giant Go Daddy Gets Even Bigger…Expands Corporate Campus

February 20, 2009; 10:24 AM

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Go Daddy is hiring people and expanding its office space – to keep pace with its growing business – in spite of the struggling economy. Today, Go Daddy officially dedicated a new wing of its Scottsdale facility with an “expansion party” attended by local government officials and Go Daddy employees.

In just the first few weeks of this year, GoDaddy.com - the world’s dominant Web hosting domain registrar - has set company records for new customers and new orders.

Go Daddy is hiring people to keep up with customer demands and has already made more than 100 hires this year, expanding its customer care division, along with other areas of the company such as legal, accounting, marketing and development.

Go Daddy is one of America’s fastest growing companies. To accommodate the growth, Go Daddy has expanded its office space with an additional 21,000-square-foot facility in Scottsdale, Ariz., taking over yet another wing of the Science & Technology complex located north of the Scottsdale Airpark.

Scottsdale Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane and several other community and business leaders joined Go Daddy President and Chief Operating Officer Warren Adelman, along with Go Daddy employees, for a ribbon cutting. The ceremony was not your typical event. The “ceremony” had that GoDaddy-esque touch, including the company’s original “Go Daddy Girl” Candice Michelle wearing her legendary tank top and signing autographs. Candice also spun the prize wheel and rewarded top employees with cash prizes and mortgages paid for an entire year.

"Go Daddy is not only a fun company for its employees, it’s also one of this nation's fastest growing companies,” Mayor Lane said. “It’s been exciting to see this kind of success and expansion start here in the Valley and reach out on a global level. Go Daddy is a key piece of a thriving Web-based economy.”

“Go Daddy is the on-ramp to the Internet, and the Internet, we think, is the heart of the new economy,” Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons recently reflected.

Go Daddy has more than 6.3MM customers worldwide and 33MM domain names under management. It hosts more secure Web sites than any other company in the world. Even with Go Daddy’s huge global reach, Parsons refuses to off-shore or outsource a single job. The commitment to personal customer care 24/7/365 has earned the company a reputation for industry-best service.

"I know people like to use the Internet for business, entertainment and emailing, but when it comes to customer service, people much prefer talking to a real person," said Parsons. "Go Daddy's customer care employees are excited about what they're doing, which translates to our customers and helps make our service the absolute best in the industry."

The Go Daddy Group, Inc. currently employs more than 2,050 people and has offices in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Gilbert and Tempe, Ariz.; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Denver, Colorado; and Washington, D.C.

Go Daddy offers a wide array of services far beyond domain name registration. The company is a world leader in Web site hosting, new SSL certificates, as well as offering Web site design, Quick Shopping Cart for online vendors and – new in 2009 – Go Daddy Marketplace, an online shopping mall where Go Daddy leverages the draw of its popular global Web site to showcase customer products.

While 2008 was a record year financially for Go Daddy, some of the company’s recent record-setting growth is attributed the company’s fifth consecutive Super Bowl ad campaign. Go Daddy was one of a handful of national companies willing, and financially able, to advertise in this year’s Super Bowl, purchasing two spots in the game. Go Daddy’s “Baseball” ad aired in the last two minutes of the dramatic game and was deemed the Most Watched commercial of the entire Super Bowl.1
