If participants sign up for Twitter, follow @NameCheap, and set up their NameCheap account, they can win domain names automatically by answering Twitter trivia. NameCheap will ask a question every hour on the hour from March 10th to March 24th. The first participant to answer each question correctly as well as two at random will be able to register domains for free. The two players who answer the most questions correctly as well as one lucky player at random will win Dell Inspiron Minis worth $500.

The micro blogging service Twitter has been used for everything from organizing blood drives to getting restaurant reviews. NameCheap is among the first to use it to have a contest. The first one called "The NameCheap Holiday Twitter Trivia Contest" was well received with 4300 people followed NameCheap on Twitter in just the first month. The contest gained worldwide following and many people found it "addictive". People even created videos on how to participate in the contest and one participant even offered to "marry" NameCheap.

The next contest has wacky trivia on a variety of subjects. NameCheap has upped the stakes by offering Dell Inspiron Minis worth $500 each to the winners and is hoping the trivia is even better received than the first.

"NameCheap is a great company to use social media because of its commitment to its customers," said Michelle Greer, the company's Marketing Strategist. "These contests are great because they help spread the word about NameCheap. When people know they can reach NameCheap on Twitter, it helps us follow up on customer service issues as well as answer basic questions about our offerings. To NameCheap's CEO Rick Kirkendall, it's a win/win for everyone".
