Webfusion expands workforce and operations in the face of downturnApril 15, 2009; 05:01 AM
The UK’s largest web hosting group, Webfusion, is continuing to recruit across the board from technical and new media to customer service staff, as the number of businesses setting up online continues to grow. Webfusion now boasts 160 employees, an increase of over 30 per cent on last year and a reflection of how much the business has grown.
Recently topping two million domain customers, the group is expanding its workforce to keep up with demand as businesses look to set up online and cash in on the trend-bucking popularity of online shopping in the face of the economic downturn.
The latest successes include the completion of its £2.5m data centre in Leeds with 24/7/365 support staff, and invested in the technology infrastructure to create stability across the entire Webfusion platform. It has also opened www.webfusion.com in the US, and has launched the popular .tel domain both there and here in the UK.
Thomas Vollrath, Managing Director at Webfusion, explains, “Thanks to increasingly user-friendly tools and processes on offer, businesses are beginning to realise how easy it is to set up an online shopping presence and grab a slice of ecommerce success. It makes us very proud to be bucking the recession by investing in our workforce and expanding operations to the US. We are making sure that we not only have a workforce capable of meeting the demand but that can also deliver a high standard of customer support.”
