SantaClarita.com, ElCajon.com on the Block Other 'Cities' Included in Auction Ending Tuesday

May 4, 2009; 02:11 AM

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/03/09 -- DomainConsultant.com announced yesterday the availability of two rare California 'city names,' SantaClarita.com and ElCajon.com, in its GEO-domain name auction going on now through May 5th.

"It's an incredible advantage for any business to own their city domain,"
says www.domainconsultant.com : analyst Mike Fiol. "In jobs or real estate, tourism, hospitality, media or information -- there is no better brand.
Besides, there is only one of each."

The 'cities' were added to a collection that includes 54 'geo' or 'geographic' names like Mundo.com (Spanish for 'world'), Miss.com, Longhorn.com and the ironically priced Reserve.com for 'No Reserve' -- a name valued at over $500,000.

"The irony is just too good not to bid on that one. Don't you think?" jokes Fiol, adding that similar names like Ad.com, Auction.com, Toys.com and Fly.com have sold for seven-figures as recently as this week.

California is also represented by YorbaLindaCA.com, VacationCalifornia.com and LAConsolidation.com. Global cities are represented by Ponce.com & Augsburg.com alongside more US locales like Massapequa.com, BeachHaven.com and Palmcity.com.

All the names are available for bidding online now through May 5th at 12pm PDT when each 'lot' is closed in alphabetical order and bidders are given a final shot to get their city or a generic Internet address. Several, including SantaClarita.com, have bids and will sell.

"Simple supply and demand," concludes Fiol, who also owns and runs HappyBirthday.com. "Once they're gone, they're gone and you never see them on the market again. That's real value."
