Generating Organic Traffic to your Domains - building your Domain Investments
by Morgan Linton February 02, 2009
At a time where flat is the new up it seems hard to believe that anyone could expect to sell anything for 10x, 20x or more than their initial purchase price - but in the domaining world, that't not all too hard. Domain names are relatively small investments - on average we hand reg our domains for under $10. Turning that $10 into $100 or even $1000 might not be quite as hard as you think.

What is a quality website according to Google?
by Barry Goggin January 30, 2009
A Google document from 2007 entitled “Google Guidelines For Quality Raters” was released into the wild last year. I wanted to analyze it a bit because if you are going to develop a domain, then this document describes what a quality site is, in Google’s eyes. Much of this information is what you should be doing anyway when building a website but it also describes possible traps you should try to avoid.

What is Twitter? Tweet? Impact on Domaining?
by Amy January 28, 2009
Back to a domain specific twitter benefit, for domainers who develop their domains into blogs or websites, twitter makes a great extension or component of a domain. A perfect example is how savy big businesses are using twitter to connect to customers. Allow people interested in your domain niche connect with you and your site through a twitter account made specifically for your domain. This domain twitter method can also drive up the value and price of your domain if they both work smoothly together. Keep in mind, a twitter account and a domain relationship will not work in every situation.

2009 is here and its officially time to stop domaining. That's right - pack up your bags, let your names expire and move in with your parents. Economies are collapsing, ppc is revenue is dropping, domain buyers seem to be in caskets and people still have no idea about the difference between a browser and a url.

Adsense optimization - surprising results
by Barry Goggin January 14, 2009
I have read before about optimizing your AdSense ads including position, color etc and read the stories of big success mostly on the AdSense website. I always passed it off as not being terribly important to the bottom line but when redesigning one of my websites recently, I decided to play with the position. The results were surprising.

Domain sales are not based on real value
by Barry Goggin January 06, 2009
Rick Schwartz had a post recently reminding everyone that it is all about the sales. It reminded me that domain sales are not based on real value but on perceived value. It is focusing on that perception that can help you maximize your sales and your profit.

Another way to sell domains
by Barry Goggin December 23, 2008
Have your own customized wedding website. Thats what WeddingChannel.com is offering their visitors including domain registration. A clever way to sell a domain name and website template and still tie them to WeddingChannel.com. There is a lesson to be learned here for all of us. Adding value to a domain name and marketing it as a package is a great way to push non-generic names.
