Domain Registrar GoDaddy.com Passes 1&1 Internet to become World’s Largest Web Hosting Provider

1&1 Internet has hosted the largest number of websites each month since industry-analyst Netcraft began tracking the number in early 2003.  GoDaddy.com knocked the German-based web host out of the number 1 spot this month thanks to a net increase of over a quarter of a million additional hostnames.  Some may question the controversial nature of the television ads that GoDaddy.com has run during the past couple of Super Bowls, but nobody can argue with the results:  the company has almost doubled the number of hostnames in the past year.
