Eurid, the registry for .eu, has drawn up a code of conduct for its accredited registrars which is to be made effective within the next couple of months. The Code is to be administered by a board of representatives elected from within the .eu registrar community.
While all accredited registrars meet the conditions laid out in the .eu registrar agreement, those registrars who elect to subscribe to the Code of Conduct will offer a superior level of service by fulfilling the criteria contained in the Code. Subscribing registrars will be identifiable by the .eu Code of Conduct logo they are to carry on their websites. They will also be listed on a separate EURid website dedicated to the Code which is currently in the design phase.
Before the official implementation of the code in late March, the
registry invites all interested parties to review the draft document
and send their comments by email to conduct@eurid.eu before Monday, 19 February.
