Stealth Communications Launches the VPF SRV Registry

NEW YORK - Stealth Communications, Inc., the owner and operator of the Voice Peering Fabric (VPF), announced the launch of the VPF SRV Registry, a database to enable enterprises and service providers worldwide to initiate Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) telephone calls using e-mail addresses as identifiers.

The VPF SRV Registry maps Internet domain names to Internet addresses, based on the traditional Domain Name Server (DNS) lookup architecture. With SRV, when a user initiates a telephone call using an e-mail like address, a request is sent to the VPF SRV Registry, which then replies back with a list of addresses on where to route the call [based on the domain name].

"Similar to the VPF ENUM Registry, The VPF SRV Registry will enable VPF Members to send and receive these telephone calls directly for free across the Voice Peering Fabric," said Shrihari Pandit, Founder & CEO of Stealth Communications, Inc. Located in 9 U.S. cities and London, the Voice Peering Fabric has become the preferred platform and marketplace for Service Providers, Enterprises, and Government Agencies to exchange VoIP traffic and telephony related services. VPF functions as an exchange or meet-point and is designed as a private voice Internet allowing members to establish peer-to-peer connections in a secure, quality-of-service environment.

The VPF SRV Registry service is available for free to VPF Members; there are no costs associated with: the registration of data, querying the registry and completing the call. Initial participants and VPF SRV certified equipment will be announced at the upcoming Voice Peering Forum Summer 2006 being held on June 29th in New York City.
