Premium Medical Domains Worth An Estimated $1 Million-Plus Up For Sale

Three top-level medical domains - TensionHeadaches.com, TensionHeadaches.net and TensionHeadaches.org - are up for sale.

The reason?

The product these domains promote, a home-based holistic treatment program for chronic tension headaches, is taking too much time and energy to maintain.

"I want to pursue other healing modalities for pain management," said Paul Bacho, who created the program, 'How to Get Permanent Relief From Chronic Tension Headaches.' "Right now, it's taking an inordinate amount of time just maintaining the business end of the headache program, like shipping, customer service and managing the web sites.

"It's time to move on."

According to Bacho, an athletic trainer from Cleveland,Ohio, prospective buyers would have the option of purchasing not only the domains, but the sites' content and rights to the program itself.

"We'd love to sell everything as one package to ensure the program remains available," he said, "but I'm not sure that's possible."

He believes it's more likely that a pharmaceutical company - especially one that makes headache medications - will end up buying the domains.

"We've talked to a couple of drug companies, but that's about all I can say about it right now," he said, declining to name them. "They're the type of entity that's most likely to be able to afford and capitalize on the domains because the market for their products is so big."

According to the National Headache Foundation, 45 million Americans suffer from chronic, recurring headaches. "That's a huge market in and of itself, but that doesn't include the rest of the world," Bacho said. "When you consider the worldwide market for headache medication and treatments, these domains are a bargain at any price."

Dominik Mueller, senior broker for HighEndWebNames.com, said the domains are "easily" worth over $1 million.

"These are prime generic domain names with lots of marketing value and commercial potential," he said. "The domains are also highly targeted because they include the very specific keywords 'tension headaches.'"

He added it's rare for the top three domain extensions for the same keywords to be available as a package.

"The new owners of these domains will not have to worry about losing traffic to competing sites due to domain extension typos," he said. "They will also have a great advantage over competing companies because TensionHeadaches.com, .net and .org regularly drive thousands of potential new clients to the owners' sites at no cost."
