New Bid for Auction Sales? September 9, 2009; 06:56 AM
September 9, 2009 --
Domains.com, the UK based registration and hosting company has
announced they are entering the Domain Auctions business. They are
offering totally free listings and 0% commission on all sales and
auctions even though existing services routinely charge from 10% to 20%
commissions. Their new site with its custom developed auction platform
went live on September 7th.
Director Chris Hornby said, "We
believe that when you use Domains.com, we are in debt to you, not the
other way round. The more high quality domains listed on the site, the
better the service we are able to offer."
Domains.com has also
announced it is dropping its price for generic (.com, etc.) domain
registrations to $10.95 per year and has added private chat rooms so
that domainers can freely discuss and even make deals in a safe and
secure environment. Site designer and developer Walter Long said, "Our
goal is provide an all-round user friendly experience for our customers
and to make it as accessable and inexpensive as possible. In today's
environment, the only way to stay ahead of the game is strive to be as
efficient as possible so as to keep costs to a minimum and to always
put the customer first. We believe our competitors are behind the curve
in this respect, and this provides us with a great opportunity to step
up to the plate and re-define the industry."
To get things
started Domains.com is already offering a selection of high quality
generic one word domains including Plan.com ($750,000), Write.com
($620,000), Advise.com ($250,000) and Scarce.com ($190,000).
